George Clooney

George Clooney is an acclaimed American actor, filmmaker, and philanthropist. He gained fame in the 1990s for his role as Dr. Doug Ross on the television series "ER." Clooney transitioned successfully to film, starring in and directing numerous critically acclaimed movies. He is known not just for his acting chops, but also his humanitarian efforts through his justice foundation, and some would argue, also through his coffee.

George's beginnings gave him the just the right push to bring him where he is today.

• Born on May 6, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky.
• Frequently moved due to his father's career, living in various towns in Kentucky and Ohio.
• Attended Blessed Sacrament School in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, and St. Michael's School in Columbus, Ohio.
• Went to Western Row Elementary School and St. Susanna School in Mason, Ohio.
