Late Rally Driver Ken Block's Legacy: A Collection of Insanely Modified Cars And Trucks

Ken Block was an inspirational figure for professional rally drivers. A former driver for the Hoonigan Racing Division not only drove and won several championships but also made an international name for himself by making gymkhana videos.

Almost all of the cars that Ken Block built or raced are still present at his garage in Park City. Even with famous rallycross driver Ken Block gone, his daughter Lia Block is here to continue his legacy with the cars he left behind. That said, co-founder of DC Shoes and master of Hoon, Ken Block had around 13 cars and trucks in his garage before his passing. Besides that, down below you will also find Ken’s former vehicles, his dirt bikes, and snowmobiles.

Ken Block's tragic passing is a sad affair. However, despite not being in this world, his custom bespoke cars with monstrous output are still amusing Gymkhana enthusiasts. 

13. 1974 Ford Bronco

In Ken Block's garage in Park City, Utah, there is a car that didn’t technically belong to him. The famous “Wifey Bronco” was owned by his ex-wife Lucy Block. However, he did take care of the mods on the car. Hence, it was impossible not to mention Ken’s connection with the Bronco. The Bronco was made to be an on-trail Park City truck that can easily cruise around town. As per Hoonigan Racing, a lot of parts for Block couple’s Bronco were provided by the National Parts Depot.

It was not just Ken Block alone who was crazy for mod cars. In 2017, Ken Block's wife Lucy Block got her 1974 Ford Bronco. The Bronco was built by the Ford Performance Parts by New Smyrna Beach Performance & Offroad. Furthermore, #wifeybronco is powered by Coyote V8 which makes 435 horsepower. Having said that, the actual worth of Lucy Block’s Bronco is not known. However, the average market value of the 1974 Ford Bronco is around $83,949, according to Classic.com.

12. 1994 Ford Escort RS Cosworth WRC COSSIE V2

After Ken’s 1991 Cossie was lost in the fire, he decided to build a new one. He partnered with the Ash Thorp which designed its outlook and theme. Ken and his team modernized the car with one thought process, “How would the Ford road rally team design this car if it came out today”. Furthermore, its engine is based on the 2.0 Escort WRC Engine and is bespoke by Julian Godfrey Engineering.

Ken built the car in 2019 but decided to upgrade its look after he had done several races and events like the 100 Acre Wood Rally in which he faced several mechanical issues. That said, Ken Block has taken the 1994 Ford Escort RS Cosworth WRC Cossie V2 or simply Cossie V2 on his “Cossie World Tour”. 

11. 1991 Ford Escort RS Cosworth AKA “COSSIE” (#RIPCOSSIE)

The 1991 Escort RS Cosworth was burned to crips in 2018. Ken Block and his fellow driver Alex Gelsomino were participating in the New England Forest Rally. During the race, Ken took a turn and lost control of the car. The Cosworth faced a collision and the hood was set on fire. However, Ken and Alex did manage to escape safely. That being said, with Gymkhana/Demo trim, Ken’s former Cossie made 620 horsepower. Otherwise, with Rally trim, it made 350 horsepower.

Later, the 1991 COSSIE was not able to survive the flames. It left the track but after Ken Block's death, his daughter Lia Block inherited his legacy and drove her father’s "Ford Escort RS Cosworth V2" and won the O2WD Driver's Championship just at the age of 16. She is also the youngest participant to ever win an ARA championship.

10. 1978 Ford Escort MK2 RS

Ken purchased the Ford Escort MK2 in 2008 with the sole aim of competing in tarmac rally events. Ken redesigned this car with Rocket Bunny and mentioned that he wanted a more aggressive look with fender flares and a new wheel design. With all the customizations, Ken turned the 1978 family sedan into a ghastly Hoonigan special. That being said, the following table highlights some details of Ken's Escort Mk2.

Under the hood of the Ford Escort MK2 lies a 2.5L Inline-4 with a 6-speed sequential that oozes out 333 horsepower and 246 lb-ft of torque. Ken’s Escort also received a stainless steel exhaust manifold and system, a carbon fiber hood and trunk lid panels, and P Racing front and rear disc brakes.

9. Ford F-450 Lariat

Ken Block uses his F-450 Dually's UTV rack to carry his Can-Am Maverick X3. Besides that, in 2020, Ken took this 8,000-pound monster to UMC (Utah Motorsports Campus) so that he could casually drift it for fun. He could be seen laughing about how this heavy beast was acting like an obedient puppy. 

The Ford F450 Lariat packs a 6.7L V8 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic that produces 475 horsepower and 1050 lb-ft of torque, this makes the car go from 0-60 in 6 seconds and a top speed of 100 mph.

8. 2017 SVC Offroad Ford F-150 Raptor

Coming to the 2017 SVC offroad Ford F-150 Raptor. To check its off-roading prowesses, Ken took the truck to Moab, Utah. SVC Offroad of Southern California made the truck. The same company that gave his F-150 Raptortrax its custom snow-riding equipment and mods. 

Ken’s 2017 SVC offroad Ford F-150 Raptor has received reflective-black Hoonigan Scatter Pattern vinyl graphics. It comes with a twin-turbo V6 that makes 550 horsepower.

7. 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew

Other than playing on the rough terrains of Moab, Kenneth Paul Block also enjoyed taking his 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew to dunes and making the car fly. He met with Jonny Lieberman of MotorTrend and went to conquer the Dumont Dunes in the Mojave Desert. 

Ken's F-150 Raptor SuperCrew was a multi-purpose truck. Sometimes he would take it for mountain biking with his family while other times he is just using it as a daily driver. 

6. 2014 Ford Fiesta R2

There is also the 2014 Ford Fiesta R2. It is not technically his car since it belongs to Lucy Block, his wife. However, when he was alive, Ken used to live to post cars of his wife on social media platforms as well. This Great Grass-Root Rally car also went against Ken’s Subaru STI, the Trophy Truck, and Ford Escort RS Cossie V2 to find out which car would cover the simple hairpin distance in the shortest possible time.

Ken and Lucy Block got married in 2004. Years later, Ken Block gave the 2014 Ford Fiesta R2 as an anniversary gift to his wife. Since it is not just him who likes rally racing. Even Lucy participated in the 2017 stage rally. 

5. 2014 Ford Fiesta ST HFHV

His 2014 Ford Fiesta ST HFHV (Hybrid Function Hoon Vehicle) takes inspiration from the Ford Fiesta WRC rally car and was made with a homologated FIA-spec roll cage. 

M-Sport first built it and later upgrades were applied by the Monster World Rally Team, according to Hoonigan Racing. It was made in such a way that be it Gymkhana, stage-rally, or rallycross event, the Fiesta ST HFHV would display a spectacular performance.

Ken’s 2014 Ford Fiesta ST HFHV hatchback featured MacPherson-type suspension, Brembo 4-pot brake calipers, and many other mods. According to Autoweek, it was being offered for $357,112. It is yet to be confirmed if it ended up getting sold or not. The car makes more than 600 horsepower but in rally spec, it puts out 350 horsepower. 

On a side note, during his YouTube video interview with AutoGuide.com, Ken revealed five things he loved about the ST. He started with the power upgrade that ST brought to the Fiesta. He went on to praise the color availability on the Fiesta ST and revealed Green was his favorite one. Upgraded interior, handling, and fun to drive were the remaining aspects that impressed Ken.

4. 2013 Block STyle Ford Focus ST

Ken's garage holds the 2013 Block STyle Ford Focus ST which is dubbed "Project Focus TrackSTer". It was made in collaboration with fifteen52, an LA-based tuner. Moreover, this Ford Focus ST also appeared at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show.

The Focus TrackSTer was one of three cars that were styled by Fifteen52 who were partners of his Hoonigan racing race team. The other two were painted in yellow and white paint. All three cars mainly differed in terms of design and styling. However, among the three Ford Focus STs, the 2013 Block STyle Ford Focus ST was Ken’s favorite. 

3. 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STI

Ken made a mess of the internet with the video of his Subaru Impreza WRX STI. For the "Gymkhana TWO: The Infomercial", he performed one of the best actions in the history of rally racing with a massive drift, near-death crash dummies, and glass-shattering stunts which amassed tens of millions of views on YouTube. 

Ken's Subaru Impreza WRX STI received its pattern design in 2008. As per his interview with MotorTrend, he also revealed that it was the dummy shot that took him the most number of takes during the filming of the GYMKHANA 2 video. It would be tough to put a price tag on Ken Block's Subaru but we estimate it to be worth around $522,948. 

2.  1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR Version 1

Ken Block’s Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR was featured in his Gymkhana 7 video. The 1965 Mustang inspired the car, and the need for speed attitude of Ken took him to Cactus Jack in 2013, with whom he redesigned the entire vehicle which resulted in making it nothing but a monstrous flash. He also rode the car together with Chris Harris in the Gymkhana 7 videos. 

Unlike its successor Version 2, the 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR Version 1 is powered by a naturally aspirated engine. The car can handle risky stunts by Ken Block due to its ASD Motorsports-designed tubular chassis, roll cage, and other modifications. Furthermore, it is also equipped with carbon fiber body panels and Pirelli Trofeo R tires.

1. 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR Version 2

The Hoonicorn RTR Version 2 came after the Hoonicorn RTR Version 1. It was featured in the Gymkhana 10 video and was given a more powerful performance hardware. Furthermore, Ken Block's Hoonicorn RTR V2 also competed against the McLaren Senna Merlin in 2020. 

The Hoonicorn RTR V2 was the same car Ken used to conquer the Pikes Peak. Ken performed several stunts while he was climbing the hill. Later, it was famously dubbed as Ken Block’s Climbkhana.

For the “Climbkhana: Pikes Peak”, the Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR V2 made 1,400 horsepower from a modified twin-turbo engine. The car was also equipped with an all-wheel-drive system and 18-inch wheels. Additionally, Ken Block was super involved in the development of Version 2 from design to mockup. 

Besides that, after the release of Version 2, a 1:10 scale Hoonicorn RC car by Team Associated was also being sold. The value of the Ken Block's Mustang Hoonicorn is yet to be discovered. However, we estimate it to be over a million. After all, his Hoonitruck was sold for $1.1 million.

For Sale: Ken Block's Former Cars

The following car belonging to Ken Block has been sold by LBI Limited. Out of these a combination of three (1986 Ford Group B Ford Escort RS200, 2013 RX43 Ford Fiesta ST, and 2011 Ford Fiesta GYM3) was called the Ken Block Collection. It is important to note that the selling price of all cars is yet to be revealed. We will be updating you as soon as the information has been made public.

8. 2016 Ford Focus RS RX

The 2016 Ford Focus RS RX’s mechanical hardware was made in collaboration between Hoonigan Racing Division and U.K.-based M-Sport. Meanwhile, its body was made by Ford Performance and M-Sport. That said, the Focus RS RX was sold to raise money for charity. In the Barrett-Jackson Fall Auction 2020, it received a final bid of $200,000. 

7. 1977 Ford F-150 Hoonitruck

The 1977 Ford F-150 Hoonitruck held great significance for Ken Block. It was made as a tribute to his late father Al Block who had the same base truck as Ken’s F-150 Hoonitruck. Furthermore, it also won the best “dressed” truck/SUV award. When LBI Limited was selling it with Ken’s signature, it asked for $1,100,000. The Hoonitruck has been sold but its final price has not been revealed yet. That being said, the F-150 Hoonitruck was used in the Gymkhana TEN video. 

6. 1986 Ford Escort RS200

According to LBI limited, Ken’s 1986 Escort RS200 is “1 of 200 homologation specials originally built to compete in the legendary Group B era of the World Rally Championship.”. A lot of modifications went into this one by Ken and his Hoonigan Racing team. Ken also claimed that it was his favorite car of all. Having said that, it was listed for $550,000

5. 2013 Ford F-150 Raptortrax

Ken Block's addiction to trucks is not a surprising thing. He owned multiple F-150s with different mods and one of his favorite 2013 Ford F-150 Raptortrax. He has driven it on snow sheets of Baldface in Nelson, BC in Canada. 

The SVC Offroad of Southern California modified it. Furthermore, what is interesting about this one is that on multiple occasions, Ken’s Raptortrax’s model year has changed. It originally started as the 2009 Ford F-150 RaptorTRAX but later received several components of the 2013 Raptor. Hence, it was addressed as the 2013 model by Ken himself. However, in some of his YouTube videos, it has been referred to as the 2014 truck. Meanwhile, when LBI Limited offered the truck for sale, it marketed it as a 2009 model for $195,000.

4. 2011 Ford Fiesta GYM3

Ken's 2011 Ford Fiesta GYM3 was featured in the Gymkhana 3 video. Like many other of his cars, this one is also based on a rallycross car. After his contact with Ford in 2010, the 2011 Fiesta was the first Ford car to be featured in Ken Block’s Gymkhana videos. 

Ken considers the 2011 Ford Fiesta GYM3 a “really simple” and a “light car”. It weighs around 2,425 pounds and does 0-60 in nearly 2 seconds. According to Ken, it was a “one-of-a-kind build” at Hooningan Racing by using the 2011 Ford Fiesta ST’s body. The car was developed by OMSE and was part of Ken Block’s Monster Energy’s Dub Tour. That being said, Ken says that it was built for a specific purpose. So that he can go out to do Gymkhan 3 videos and also travel around the world for Gymkhana demos. 

3. 2015 Ford Fiesta ST RX43

The Fiesta ST RX43 was customized and made a rallycross car by Ken Block in collaboration with the M-Sport. He raced the car in the 2013 Global RallyCross circuit but didn’t manage to win it. The car was featured in Gymkhana 6 and Gymkhana 8 videos. These videos for Gymkhana and Terrakhana were shot in Dubai and Swing Arm City, Utah respectively. Before selling it off, it was one of the favorite cars in the world, according to the YouTube video posted by LBI Limited in 2021.

The car has an upgraded 2013 Chassis. Hence, it could be the reason why LBI Limited promoted it as the 2013 Ford Fiesta ST RX43 instead of using “2015” in its name as Ken called it. 

2. 2004 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS Rally Car

The car originally had 2004 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS specs before it was transformed into a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI rally car by Vermont SportsCar of Milton. Ken Block has driven it in  X Games rally events with co-driver Alex Gelsomino. Furthermore, it was also featured in the Gymkhana 1 video. 

In 2023, the 2004 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS Rally Car was auctioned on Bring A Trailer website. Its final bid reached $146,000. The car received several upgrades by Ken himself. It received a new turbo engine which was mated to a 5-speed dog-box manual transmission. The net output was around 400 horsepower. 

1. 2016 Ford Focus RS

The 2016 Focus RS was one of the few cars in the Ken Block car collection whose engine was not tweaked to make it a fire-breathing monster. The car was sold in 2016 through an auction in Scottsdale organized by Barret-Jackson.

It was ultimately sold for $550,000 and all the proceeds went to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). Before selling it off, it was his favorite daily driver.

In 2015, during the live launch event of the new 2016 Focus RS in Cologne, Germany, Ken Block personally test-drove the Focus RS prototype. Later on, he went to the stage and drove off the car when it was time to display the regular production model. 

Special Rides:

The Ken Block car collection didn’t have only cars as toys. Former driver of the Monster World Rally Team also owned dirt bikes and snowmobiles. He had following in his possession.

• 2017 Can-Am Maverick X3 X RS Turbo

Ken Block had not one but two identical 2017 Can-Am Maverick X3 X RS bikes. These were featured in the GYMKHANA 10 and other videos produced by Ken Block and Hoonigan Racing. Ken drove the Can-Am Maverick X3 X RS Turbos on the streets of Guanajuato, Mexico in 2019. At the final stage of his life, he also took X3 RS to "The Glamis" sand dunes in late 2020 to shoot one of the videos for the "Guide To Awesome Can-Am Riding Spots" series.

• 2017 Can-Am Maverick X3 Max X RS

Ken's street-legal 2017 Can-Am Maverick X3 Max X RS with a seating capacity of four is also there. All three Can-Ams made 154 horsepower before the modifications. Hoonigan is yet to release the specs after its "Banana Tuning" but we bet the net output is tremendous. He also owns a 2021 Can-Am Maverick X3 Max X RS model.

• 2018 Ski-Doo Freeride 154

Besides that, during his lifetime, Ken bought two snow bikes for backcountry snowmobiling and deep-powder. His first snowmobile was the 2018 Ski-Doo Freeride 154 which was given HOONIGAN's "Geo Drip" pattern. 

• 2020 Ski-Doo Summit X Expert sled

Ken Block's 2020 Ski-Doo Summit X Expert sled weighs around 400 lbs. He has taken this sled to British Columbia for backcountry fun and mountain climbing on a thick sheet of snow.
