Barack Obama

Barack Obama is a member of the Democratic Party and was the first African American to hold the office. He is also a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Post-presidency, Obama has continued to influence public life through his writing, public speaking, and the Obama Foundation, which focuses on global issues and civic engagement​.

Obama's simple background makes his presidency even more impressive. 

• Barack Hussein Obama II was born in Honolulu, Hawaii​. After his parents' divorce when he was two years old, Obama lived with his mother and grandparents in Hawaii. His father returned to Kenya​.
• He attended Punahou School, a prestigious prep school in Honolulu, from fifth grade until his graduation in 1979​. 
• Started at Occidental College in Los Angeles before transferring to Columbia University in New York City, where he earned a degree in political science in 1983​. 
• Attended Harvard Law School, where he became the first African American president of the Harvard Law Review​.
• His multicultural background and experiences living in different parts of the world, including Indonesia with his mother and stepfather, shaped his worldview and political outlook​.
• After graduating from Columbia, Obama worked in community organizing in Chicago, which laid the groundwork for his future political career​

Despite the fame and worldwide recognition, Obama's family remains tight-knit and closely bonded.

• Barack is married to Michelle Obama who is a Lawyer, author, and former First Lady of the United States.
• He has two daughters, Malia Ann Obama: Born on July 4, 1998. Currently pursuing her career and education and Sasha (Natasha) Obama: Born on June 10, 2001. Also focused on her education and future career.
• His mother was Ann Dunham who was an Anthropologist. She passed away in 1995.
• His father is Barack Obama Sr. who is an Economist from Kenya. He passed away in 1982.
